What a level 2 charger installation includes
A home charging station is an electrical project before it is a gadget. Every installation gets the same complete treatment, from the same licensed master electrician practice behind our 24 hour emergency service.
Load calculation first
We measure what your panel can actually supply before anything is bought. If the capacity is not there, you find out now, not on inspection day.
Permit and code compliance
Permitted, installed and declared the way the Quebec electrical code requires, by a licensed master electrician.
A dedicated 240 volt circuit
Level 2 charging runs on its own circuit, sized for your charger and wired straight from the panel. Nothing shared, nothing improvised.
Any charger, any brand
FLO, Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox and the rest. Already bought one? We install it. Still choosing? We tell you what fits your panel.
Indoor or outdoor mounting
Garage, carport, exterior wall or a post by the driveway, with wiring and connections made for Quebec weather.
Tested and explained
We power the station up, run a charge and walk you through the settings before we leave.
If the load calculation shows your panel is already at its limit, that is not a dead end. A load management device or a panel upgrade gets you there, and we do both.
Condo, duplex or detached
Home charging through a Quebec winter
Winter is when home charging stops being a convenience and becomes the point. Cold cuts an electric car's range, so it needs more charge exactly when public stations are least pleasant to use. A regular 120 volt outlet was never meant to be a primary charging method, and in January it struggles to keep up with a daily commute. A level 2 station fills the battery overnight, every night, at the coldest time of year.
The real question is rarely the charger. It is the panel. Many Montreal homes heat with electricity, so the panel works hardest on a February morning: baseboard heating, water heater, stove, and now a car. That is why the load calculation comes first, as the code requires. If your panel has room, we install. If it does not, we quote the fix honestly before you buy any hardware.
Detached and duplex
The run goes from your panel to your parking spot. Straightforward when the panel has capacity, and the load calculation tells us that before work starts.
Condo and shared parking
Possible more often than people think, but the path matters: co-ownership approval, where the power is metered, and how the cable reaches your space. We assess it and give you a clear answer in writing before you commit.

Straight answers
Home EV charging questions
Can my panel handle an EV charger?
That is the first thing we check, with a load calculation. Many panels can. When one cannot, a load management device or a panel upgrade solves it, and we give you the options with a firm price before anything is installed.
Is there a rebate for installing a home charger in Quebec?
Yes. Quebec has programs that can cover part of the cost of a home charging station and its installation. Programs change, so ask us when you call and we will point you to the current one.
Can I install a charger in a condo?
Often, yes. It depends on the building: co-ownership approval, where your parking spot is, and how the electricity is metered. We assess the building, explain what is possible and put it in writing before you commit.
Which charger brand should I buy?
Any major brand works: FLO, Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox and others. Hold off buying until the load calculation is done, because the right charger depends on what your panel can supply. If you already own one, we install it.
What does an EV charger installation cost in Montreal?
We do not publish a number, because two installations rarely involve the same work. The length of the cable run, the capacity of your panel, indoor or outdoor mounting, condo or detached: each one changes the price. What we commit to: a firm written price after the on-site diagnosis, before any work starts, with no surprise invoices.

Great job! I needed someone to upgrade some cable for a boiler. Lighthouse Electrique was fast to quote and also agree to work at the same time as the plumber. Correct prices, clean work. I recommend them!
